Program 2: Active Citizens through Education

 

  • Information, education and raising awareness of citizens on anti-corruption policies and other forms of abuse of public power, by establishing an Anti-Corruption Education Centre, which will deal with:
  • Public opinion polls on perception, knowledge and experiences of youth on corruption in the education system;
  • Promotion of international standards against bribery;
  • Providing resources for anti-corruption education, training and other forms of capacity building, and public lectures;
  • Organization of summer camps for education based on the peer-to-peer learning methodology;
  • Supporting and promoting networking, civic activism and coalition building;
  • Organisation of awareness raising campaigns for citizens;
  • Providing online platforms for citizens education;
  • Promotion of education against corruption through social networks;
  • Promoting public debates and direct and open dialogue between public institutions and politically elected persons, on one side, and citizens on the other side (through forums and platforms like FOL Hapur (Speak Openly) and others, with the aim of good governance);
  • Promoting the public policy-making approach with participation of citizens and advancing policy and institutional framework for this purpose at all levels of government (giving priority to participatory budgeting and gender mainstreaming of policies and policy-making processes);
  • Promoting participatory democratic culture among young people (through debate clubs that will provide training on public policy debates and organize competitions);
  • Promoting personalities who promote participatory democratic culture among the general public (through initiatives such as the Civil Courage Prize and the like).
