FOL begins the campaign “Accountability Test”

Prishtina, 11 September 2012 – This year Movement FOL has organized various activities related to transparency as a key point in the development of democracy in Kosovo.
Movement FOL, since its establishment, part of its commitments has been the promotion of transparency and accountability of public institutions. In this context, Movement FOL began the campaign “Accountability Test” on Monday which will last from 10 to 28 September. During this campaign, FOL will be in nine municipalities of Kosovo, assisting citizens to apply for Access to Public Documents at municipal and central level.

On Monday, September 10, Movement FOL’s staff was in Mitrovica filling dozen of requests and questionnaires about the access to public documents. Requests addressed to Mitrovica later were sent to the municipality, and responses are expected within the time provided by law, whereas the requests addressed to the central institutions, by citizens of Mitrovica will be sent once collected from other municipalities as well.

The data derived from the completed questionnaires will be published in a report, which will be published after the end of the campaign. During this three-week period FOL has been in the following municipalities:

Mitrovica, Prizren, Gjakova, Peja, Prizren, Gjilan, Kamenica, Podujeva, Prishtina.
